IL Dept of Employment Security (IDES) – to file for unemployment insurance in Illinois, job placement & referral services, job fairs, employment and training programs, and more. Links for veterans, household workers and ex-offenders.
Illinois Job Link – lets Illinois – employers post job openings and Illinois job seekers post their qualifications. Has over 100,000 help-wanted ads posted.
Career One Stop (US Dept of Labor) – comprehensive source on training and education, resumés and cover letters, interviewing skills, salaries etc. Links to state job banks and information for members of the military and their spouses.
Chicago Federation of Labor- Workforce & Community Innitiative – connects job seekers to employers in Chicago area, offers variety of programs to develop job search skills and more.
Jane Adams Resource Corporation (JARC) – is a non-profit that provides free job training and placement in the manufacturing field to low income or under/unemployed community members in the region.
