fall color kayaking trip (for adults)

Who’s ever heard of kayaking with librarians?? We have! Westchester Library is excited to announce that we’re partnering with the Forest Preserve District of Cook County (FPDCC) on a “kayak gear library” project known as the Greater Maywood Paddling Program (made possible by a CBS Eco-Media Grant). This will enable us to outfit our patrons with kayaking gear for part of the day and lead you on kayak adventures in local waters for FREE. Four members of our Library staff received several hours of in-depth instruction directly from the FPDCC’s outdoor recreation experts to become certified paddle leaders, and we are now ready to lead groups! Our next adventures are scheduled for Sunday, October 21 and Sunday, October 28. **Due to anticipated high demand, a random drawing will be held on Monday, October 8. All entries must be submitted no later than Sunday, October 7 at 4:00 pm.** If you are in interested in a fun-filled, on-water adventure, please see our Adult Department on the upper level for more details.
